For a while now I have been looking for a good way express the Steampunk aesthetic, but the words have failed me, which is a hard thing for me to admit. I am rarely at a loss for words, but this current wave of retro- and paleo-futurism has inspired me.
As I continue working on Fate’s Harrow and Phara-un, I have been trying to incorporate as much as can into the tales. I am happy to say that I have found a project that will allow me to explore the limits of steampunk and beyond.
As the images keep rolling in, my imagination becomes more inflamed by these bazaar cross pollination. I am hunting for the limits of cross genre fiction, and as yet, I don’t think I have found them.
Hopefully, you will enjoy the fruits of these experiments in baroque imagery. I cannot wait to share with you the new tales.

I have started gathering my poetry to make a post to the site. I have debated whether to release these thoughts onto the internet, but I share everything with you all anyway.
I am still working on Phara-un, but the work has slowed down. My allergies have made it almost impossible for me to concentrate. I am working as fast as I can.
Liquid Sky is still circulating, looking for an agent. I did receive a letter asking for money to consider represent me… I’m not stupid.
That is the state of the work, just thought you should know.

It dawned on me today when Brian began to read Phara-un Episode 2 to help me proofread that I don’t think my father as ever read anything I have ever written. Not that he has to, or that anyone in my family has any obligation to read what I’ve written, but I find that a little strange.Mom reads my work… she finds it a little strange (I think she prefers my poetry), but she is fairly supportive. My sister, Chris, used to, but she doesn’t have the time anymore (bless her heart, see just works to much.). My brother and other sister have never read anything I’ve written, but then again, we don’t talk as much as I would like.
I really wonder why Dad won’t read my work… He doesn’t even take much interest in it.
Well, I have to get back to work… the stories don’t write themselves unless I do the typing.
They are lazy like that. Talk to you all later.

I know it took a long time, but that is why I am going to right the whole season before they are released to make sure they all come out in a timely manner. For more information on Phara-un [click here]. And their was much rejoicing.
| Sabbath Bloody SabbathCalm down, I’m talking about the song, not some tragic event in the news. I was just listening to Bruce Dickenson’s cover of the classic Black Sabbath song, when I dawned on me: That song is so much like my life. I have been angry before, but nothing like I have been lately. The very notion that basic human dignity is a question for the electorate to handle… Dear God, what is wrong with these people.
Everything came to a head last night when General Kill-the-Idolaters was on 60 minutes [their side]. I was so enraged, I had to leave the room. I heard the ’sermon’ he gave. I heard him speak to the neo-cons in christian clothing on their shows saying he was unapologetic and mean the anti-Muslim slurs he had been touring the nation giving.
I am not as angry at him, as I am at the nation for tolerating such blatant hypocrisy. I am angry for not doing everything in my power to stop these people from tarnishing and destroying everything good about this nation.
My anger has always been reflexive. When I became angry at others I would hurt myself (and I have the scars to prove it), but that has all changed. My urge for self destructive rage has waned, now all I think about it sharing my anger with you through my writing.
You have been my salvation, and I just wanted to say thank you. Though there aren’t many of you now, each month your numbers are growing. Thank you for taking time to check me out. The Revolution continues. (Rage + Hope = Creativity) Thanx for giving me hope. |

Well, I took a lot of grief yesterday for knowing the facts about Bush from my democratic, Kerry supporting mother! What in the world is going on when people that oppose Bush are defending his right to lie? We have to find a back bone, and stand up to defend truth in this country.
On the “Side Note” from yesterday
Reuters made note of the same phrase in their coverage. Maybe it was a slip of the tongue, but you have to be licking something wacky for that phrase to slip out: [READ IT HERE]
Today is a Writing Day.
Today I am going to get some writing done! Sorry for not doing many posts, but Phara-un will not write itself, yet…
I hope to get the series written soon.
Side Note
Just so you know: Nation Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is coming up in November, so make your plans to participate today. Their site will become active again in October, but if your schedule is like mine, you need to start making plans now. [LINK]
