As you know I’m a sucker for a vampire movie bad pun intended. Many turn out to be really bad but every once in a while a vampire movie will stand out from the pack.
Suck is a comedy vampire movie about a rock band while on the road becomes vampires to improve their rock. With classic great lines like:
“what happens on the road stays on the road”
“try some groupie”
The trailer is awesome! Watch it below.
Unfortunately it is currently making the independent film rounds which means for me living in the middle of nowhere I will have to wait to watch it.
The guest stars in this movie floored me: Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Moby, and Henry Rollins all musical icons plus , Dave Foley who’s performances I have always enjoyed.
Right Me Up is one of my absolutely favorite songs from State Radio’s Us Against the Crown album . Every time I need a pick me up, this is one of my top go to songs.
Watching them perform live with Manny on the stage is a guaranteed way to make bring a smile to my face, how about yours?
This entry is part 1 of 8 in the series SF News Bites
Glee
Season two brings us hope and promise for Kurt to find a new boyfriend. I’m excited over this prospect because Glee has a track record of being very respectful in their portrayal of minorities. In addition to that they have done such a great job in representing Kurt as a gay character especially in the episode when he comes out to his friends and family. (via 365gay)
Merlin
Merlin Season two will be aired in the US on SyFy starting April 2. (via Whedonesque)
Iron Man 2
For those chomping at the bit to see anything out for Iron Man2 there is a gallery of pictures via Filmonic. They are stills of the main images represented in the trailer Iron Man 2 Official Trailer and video.
AD/DC has a new album due to release April 19th called AC/DC: Iron Man 2. It’s a collection of their songs to be featured in Iron Man 2. Preorder your copy here: Iron Man 2 (Deluxe CD/ DVD Package). They have also posted a video of “Shoot To Thrill.” (via AC/DC)
Stone Age Medicine
Bit of Odd news, stone age medicine more advanced than thought. Evidence found to show amputation performed in sterile conditions (via Unexplained Mysteries)
A Talking Heads literal video practically writes it’s self. Watch the video below.
The video is for the Talking Heads Once In a Lifetime video. With some oddly funny lines like “and when I catch that elf”, “sweatier then I ever was”, “and I’m just a normal guy”. David Byrne like myself have had many adjectives to describe us but “normal guy” would not make it on the top 100 list of them.
This literal version is more parody then singing about what is actually going on in the video but it’s still funny and worth watching.
I missed the original airing of Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions but I”m glad to have watched it.
This hilarious song really captures some of the absurdity in the explosion scene in movies where the lead character walks away from the explosion and not looking back. This song is from The Lonely Island, the same talent that brought us I’m On a Boat, Jizz in My Pants and Dick in a Box.
Catch an appearance of JJ Abrams in it. I only wished he sung “Lens Flair” during the song. Watch the Video below.
Christopher Walken is a brilliant performer, dancer and has a great sense of humor. The video below is yet another example of not only that brilliance but how a mashup can culturally make it even better.
A while back Christopher Walken did a reading performance of lady Gaga’s Poker face on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross BBC1. This reading was very funny to watch leaving me chuckling and doing my own impression of Walken saying “P P P poker face… poker face.” Then DJ Leekee took it up a notch with a video mashup!
Lady Gaga vs Christopher Walken-Poker Face(Mashup). Watch the video below.
Depeche Mode always make stunning videos, and this is no exception.
I like the song, but the video effected me in a way I never expected. I miss James Bond movies. I hope the franchise will right itself after they fire Daniel Craig, but until then, I have this video that reminds me of what a new Bond intro should look like.
I am not sure why I love this video so much, but watching Kelly, Ryan and the other from The Office go after each other in this pop song is just funny.
Drew Barrymore [... would ...]like to update the old TV show for ABC. A rep for Sony Pictures Television confirms that the network is close to ordering a pilot of the reboot, which Barrymore would develop with Leonard Goldberg, who produced the original series with Aaron Spelling, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles‘ Josh Friedman, who’s been tapped to write and exec produce (EW).
Felicia Day’s name has been brought up a lot, and I think she would be perfect. The better question is who should the other two be.
Freema Agyeman and Dichen Lachman would make for the dream team.
The likelihood of these three staring in a new Charlie’s Angels is slim, but wouldn’t it be great?
Wow! I have not been all that excited about the Clash of the Titans remake, but this trailer changed my mind. It looks great, but I didn’t see anyone I recognized as Caliban. I am really curious what he looks like.
