Review of: Chuck: Chuck Versus The Lethal Weapon
Overall Rating: 8
After MI-6 Agent Cole Barker was captured by Fulcrum, Chuck must go under 24 hour watch and can not move in with Morgan. Now he must figure out how to break the bad news to Morgan. Meanwhile he pursues one of Fulcrum’s scientists, in hopes of learning how to get the Intersect out of his head. Watch the episode streaming online above.
I really enjoy the Get Smart feel that this show has with chuck as this adorable bumbling success of an agent. They also permeated the show with so many geek and speculative fiction fandom references which has lent the show such a familiar feel. One game I love to play is picking out all of those references in each show.

- The Dance Like an Egyptian remix was awesome

- The hobble chase scene, awesome
- Robert Picardo: I love that he was in this episode
- The MI-6 Agent Cole Barker kept cracking me up as he reminded me of Eric Idle’s character in National Lampoon’s European Vacation. He would get injured and be so cordial about it and wave it off as nothing more than a mere inconvenience
- really sweet and neat ending that furthers the story.

The Complete Master Works 2: over 3 hours of Tenacious D goodness!!! Hilarious, brilliantly irreverent music from both their old stuff and from The Pick of Destiny. The set list for the live concert has over 22 tracks and several videos.
- Futurama: Bender’s Game: The third out of the new Futurama direct to DVD movies. I loved the first two and hold high expectations for this one as well. I was disappointed when they raised the prices on The Beast with a Billion Backs $23.99 but now it looks like at $17.99 they are moving back toward the $15.99 price point which I think is a better one. For more read Bender’s Game Now With Dungeons & Dragons.
- Get Smart (2 Disc Special Edition): I loved this movie gave it a 9.5 out of 10, it’s a definite owner. Exploring: Get Smart
- Get Smart – The Complete Series Gift Set: All five seasons of the classic series!!! this show was great, a classic example of television comedy. I have the first season and can’t stop watching it. The entire series of Get Smart is a must own.
- Kung Fu Panda Two – Pack (Kung Fu Panda Widescreen Edition + Secrets of the Furious Five): This movie got great reviews and going to the top of my rent list, probably a must own.
- Primeval: Seasons 1 & 2: Thanks to an unexplained wrinkle in time, prehistoric creatures are running amok through the modern age, prompting evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter to spring into action. With his small team of experts, Cutter takes on the anachronistic beasts and tries to keep a global crisis at bay. But the sudden reappearance of his wife, whom he long believed to be dead, only adds another piece to a very complicated puzzle. I’ve heard some good things about this series and will have to put it onto my rent list.
- Reaper: Season 1: On his 21st birthday, lifelong slacker Sam is confronted by Satan and forced to become a bounty hunter who captures souls escaped from hell. With the help of his clumsy friends, Sam takes on the challenge of sending evildoers back where they belong. I’ve heard some good things about this series and will also have to put it onto my rent list.

Review of: Get Smart
Overall Rating: 9.5 A
This film received a roaring audience laugh while mesmerizing us with stunning action sequences. I loved seeing that they got Mel Brooks in as a consultant for the film. The timing and placement of the jokes were impeccable. Wether you are into KAOS or Control I highly recommend watching this movie. I left the theater wanting to watch it again, it will definitely be an owner.
Get Smart is about how Control agent Maxwell Smart (Carrell) is sent on his first mission which is to stop KAOS in their latest plot for world domination. Agent 99 (Hathaway) is sent with him to keep Maxwell Smart out of trouble.
Likes
- Made me laugh a lot
- Had exciting action sequences
- There was a delightful balance between action and comedy where one was not favored above the other.
- The storyline moved at a beautiful pace, Cheers!!!!
- They used some of the classic lines from Get Smart but did so in a tasteful and appropriate manner that made sense within the film.
- As one who grew up watching Get Smart I really enjoyed all of the homage moments to the TV show.
- There was a nice morality touch where we were reminded that villains are people too and not all of them were defeated by by shooting them.
- Bad guys are people too. They are what they do not who they are.
- There were no superfluous parts put into the film. Everything that was in had an important part to the story.
- Steve Carell was hilarious without being shticky
- Anne Hathaway was in the movie to be more than the Hot Chick and was a well rounded character
- Dwane Johnson was hilarious and more than the stereotypical action hero.
Dislikes / Concerns
- more of a concern but the fat jokes left me feeling a little weird mainly because at the beginning they were not done well and weren’t very funny but there were other scenes that were very tasteful and hilarious.
- There was a weird audio moment at the beginning of the dance scene. I don’t know if they just screwed up in cutting the sound or if it was intentional but I found it very irritating. If it was intentional I think the movie companies should give us a discount for an intentionally broken product.
- a villains twist was a little predictable but not too obvious.

The Plot / Story: Control agent Maxwell Smart (Carrell) is sent on his first mission which is to stop KAOS in their latest plot for world domination. Agent 99 (Hathaway) is sent with him to keep Maxwell Smart out of trouble.
I gave the trailer a 5 out of 5. I laughed at all of the jokes and even found myself quoting them latter in the day just for an additional laugh, a true sign to a trailers enduring quality. All of the characters look appropriate for their roles. The trailer does not get old: Having watched it multiple times I still get excited at an opportunity to watch the trailers again.
I would love to watch this in the theater and may still but I don’t foresee having an opportunity to this weekend thus making it a renter. The trailers is entertaining, I love Get Smart the TV show, and the cast is awesome so I have full faith the movie will also be great fun. If I had to choose one movie to watch this weekend it would be between Get Smart and The Guru and I would have to flip a coin pick Get Smart.
