Review of: Kung Fu Panda
Overall Rating: 9
Kung Fu Panda really impressed me with how edifying it is. there are tons of valuable messages yet it was not preachy. This movie is entertaining and funny I could not stop laughing. This animated movie is an owner.
Kung Fu Panda is about Po a panda bear that is recruited by a team of Kung Fu masters to help protect the Valley of Peace from an evil snow leopard. Starring: Jack Black, Ian McShane, Angelina Jolie.
- “There are No accidents.”
- “You are too concerned with what was and what will be. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift that is why it is called the present.”
- “Let go of the illusion of control.”
- The secret of all masters… is in the movie you have to watch it (no spoilers he he)
Likes
- Good pace
- Great story: with a strong underdog / dreamer rising up to overcome the challenge theme to it.
- Nice animation not outstanding but there were some really cool effects.
- Good acting: I really felt the emotions from the voice talent behind the animated characters
- Cool use bullet time
- I loved Master Oogway
- I love the use of the peach tree and especially the symbolic scene with the falling blossoms.
- I really liked the wisdom of Master Oogway
- The great Zen way of teaching great lessons without teaching the audience.
Dislikes / Concerns
- I was concerned before watching the film that this movie was going to be stupid funny, not bad but one note. To my delight Kung Fu Panda is so much more!
- It’s petty but I kept getting stuck mentally on the fact that Po being a panda has a father who is a duck! I actually found it funny yet my mind kept getting hung up on it. It has no bearing on the quality of the film and is not out of the ordinary for this type of move. It’s just a little funny thing that got me really excited latter when I expected a big reveal latter on in the movie that I thought I should share.

November 4, 2008 in Movies, tv/series by Brian Logee
The Complete Master Works 2: over 3 hours of Tenacious D goodness!!! Hilarious, brilliantly irreverent music from both their old stuff and from The Pick of Destiny. The set list for the live concert has over 22 tracks and several videos.
- Futurama: Bender’s Game: The third out of the new Futurama direct to DVD movies. I loved the first two and hold high expectations for this one as well. I was disappointed when they raised the prices on The Beast with a Billion Backs $23.99 but now it looks like at $17.99 they are moving back toward the $15.99 price point which I think is a better one. For more read Bender’s Game Now With Dungeons & Dragons.
- Get Smart (2 Disc Special Edition): I loved this movie gave it a 9.5 out of 10, it’s a definite owner. Exploring: Get Smart
- Get Smart – The Complete Series Gift Set: All five seasons of the classic series!!! this show was great, a classic example of television comedy. I have the first season and can’t stop watching it. The entire series of Get Smart is a must own.
- Kung Fu Panda Two – Pack (Kung Fu Panda Widescreen Edition + Secrets of the Furious Five): This movie got great reviews and going to the top of my rent list, probably a must own.
- Primeval: Seasons 1 & 2: Thanks to an unexplained wrinkle in time, prehistoric creatures are running amok through the modern age, prompting evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter to spring into action. With his small team of experts, Cutter takes on the anachronistic beasts and tries to keep a global crisis at bay. But the sudden reappearance of his wife, whom he long believed to be dead, only adds another piece to a very complicated puzzle. I’ve heard some good things about this series and will have to put it onto my rent list.
- Reaper: Season 1: On his 21st birthday, lifelong slacker Sam is confronted by Satan and forced to become a bounty hunter who captures souls escaped from hell. With the help of his clumsy friends, Sam takes on the challenge of sending evildoers back where they belong. I’ve heard some good things about this series and will also have to put it onto my rent list.

Through consumerism, rampant, unchecked consumerism, the Earth was covered with trash. And to clean up, everyone had to leave Earth and set in place millions of these little robots that went around to clean up the trash and make Earth habitable again.
Well, the cleanup program failed with the exception of this one little robot and he’s left on Earth doing his duty all alone. He doesn’t know he can’t stop working. But it’s not a story about science fiction. It’s a love story, because, you see, WALL·E falls in love with EVE, a robot from a probe that comes down to recover the last plant left on Earth, which curious little Wall-E has picked up.
