Stargate Universe is one of the best Sci-Fi shows out right now. I’m really excited about how they are stepping up in the second half of the season.
I can’t wait for April 2nd when season 1.5 will primer.

Simeon a Lucian Alliance soldier who will be a recurring antagonist for season two of Stargate Universe.
Described in his casting call as:
He was a seasoned criminal before being recruited by the Alliance. He’s strong and intimidating but more crafty and wiry than big and muscular. Scary in that you’re never sure what he will do.
Simeon will be part of a six to seven episode story arc where he holds secrets about Destiny that everyone wants. Secrets that he is willing to die or kill for. Eventually he will have to face off with Rush in a serious conflict.
His involvement in the story arc, espicaly his knowledge about Destiny looks like further evidence that the Goa’uld motherships attacking the Icarus Base are actually connected to the Lucian Alliance.
What tech or secret knowledge is on the Destiny that the Lucian Alliance would want and what would they use it for?

This Stargate Universe trailer is way better then the previous teaser video, watch it above.
I like the look of the ship Destiny. We finally get a look at the ship as a whole in this trailer. It has a nice sleek look that has some similarities to the ancients ships featured in Stargate Atlantis but it is different in it’s own right.
The explanation given of how they get stuck on the ship is not only plausible but has a nice Stargate feel to it. Stargate command is giving a tour of the Icarus base when they go under attack. This attack forces everyone to flee through the gate but instead of ending up at the desired location something goes wrong and they end up very far away from earth on the ship destiny. Yup, a perfect Stargate scenario that puts a smile on my face.
The feel overall gives me hope and makes me want to watch Stargate Universe when it airs October 2nd.

The Sanctuary mythos is growing! The trailer made me foam at the mouth for more of one of the best original series I have seen in a long time.
Tapping also mentioned a few characters that she’d like to bring back from the Web series. “We actually just brought Wexford [Atlantis' Paul McGillion] back. … He’s on our season finale. We’ve been trying to get Wexford back on the show since the webisodes, and now we’ve found the perfect place for him. … We’ve been trying to get David Hewlett [Dr. Rodney McKay from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis]; … we have. There was a scheduling issue. He was shooting a film. And then there was another scheduling issue. … We’ll get him on the show eventually. We love him. We want him to be a part of it (Scifi Wire).”
Wexford is a great character from the original series and I cannot wait to see him come back.
I understand that they will be “re-imagining” his creature to take advantage of the bigger budget. It will be fun to catch up with him.
I am a little sad to see that Larry Tolson (Hewlett) will not return this season. Hewlett is busy. I understand that. I just really want to see him return to the show.
Nikola Tesla (Jonathon Young) is portrayed as a vampire on the show. “I sort of have always liked vampires,” Tapping said. “I’ve always liked that dark mythology. … Vampires are hot right now. … I think we have one of the best vampires going in Tesla. I like the fact that we take historical characters, … Nikola Tesla, a vampire, what? That’s crazy! I like that we do that. … Jonathan actually played Tesla onstage. He did a one-man show about Tesla before we cast him as Tesla on our show. And Nikola Tesla is being played much different … in our series. Tesla didn’t like to be touched. He ended up living in a room, and he was surrounded by pigeons … so it was quite filthy for a germophobe to live in this environment. … He was just a really bizarre character. He never had a relationship. … We played Tesla somewhat different for obvious reasons (Scifi Wire).”
I love the way Tesla is portrayed in Sanctuary. It is an interesting and fresh take on Vampires.
Tesla is a loved villain on the show and I cannot wait to see more about him. I hope they will flesh out the vampire a little more, because I cannot get enough of the bloodsuckers. I also have high hopes that they will make Vampires quirky and badass!
Heyerdahl said in an exclusive interview. “This episode is called ‘Penance,’ or at least that’s what it’s called now. Basically, we have a special guest star, who is Michael Shanks. He’s playing a wonderful departure from what we’re used to seeing him. The two characters that spend most of their time together are Michael’s character, Jimmy, and Kate Freelander [played by new cast member Agam Darshi]. They end up together and discover they share a similar past. They’re a couple of streetwise wanderers who find their lives have a very surprising similarity. It’s a pretty cool episode because it’s a mystery search story, as well as those two characters getting together to fight for their lives (Scifi Wire).”
Sounds interesting. I hope he is a recurring villain. I can’t get enough Evil Shanks.
The second season of Sanctuary premieres on Oct. 9 a 10 p.m. Special guest stars this season include Christopher Gauthier (Eureka) and Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1) [Scifi Wire].
Hulu should get the episode the next day.

Thanks to Joe Mallozzi for sharing a bunch of concept art and set pictures of the ship Destiny which is the ancients ship that the crew get stranded on in the new show Stargate: Universe.
Stargate Universe debuts on October 2nd with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. The regular episodes will air Fridays a 9, starting on October 9.
Lets begin our tour with the control room. I’m excited with the look and feel that they are going for with the control room. There is a nice blend with elements that we are familiar with from Stargate SG1 and Atlantis. They incorporated a more circular feel to the layout which helps set it apart from the typical human box like interior ship design.

From the control room lets take a walk down some of the corridors of the Destiny and head to the gate room.

The concept art is fun, when zoomed in on the text is readable and it explains what the different lights and parts resembles.
Concept art: I like having it in a bay with all of the windows around it giving the gate room high visibility and a vast open feeling. Plus the tunnel effect caused by the long room adds to the experience of passing through the wormhole.

unfortunately it looks like they went with a more shallow depth to the room hopefully that is altered with movie magic. They still have what looks like windows or open areas around the main structure and a door behind the gate this should add for more gate room variability. What is really interesting is the chevrons around the gate look different.

Lets head down a few more corridors to our last stop on our tour, the living quarters.
I love the use of an ancient’s french press coffee machine in the middle of the table. Joking aside it’s really neat looking, I wonder if it’s some kind of lantern.
