Legend of The Seeker is fantasy series based on Terry Goodkind’s The Sword of Truth novel series.  Season two appears to cover books two and three “Blood of the Fold” and “Stone of Tears” in which we will see the split and infighting of The Sisters of the Ageil, the return of Darken Rahl from the underworld and the discovery of a new Lord Rahl.

This is one of the best produced shows currently on TV from stellar acting, breathtaking action sequences, awe inspiring scenery, and very good story.  It is a must see for any fantasy / sword and sorcery fans.  I would also highly recommend this show to any SF fans if for nothing else then to see what a good show should look like.

Exploring LOTS Season Two

Legend of The Seeker Season Two will air on November 7, 2009 and run weekly for the 22 episodes.  Being an independent production that is nationally syndicated it will appear on different times and stations across the country but as for me I’ll watch it on Hulu.  “The Season 2 premiere is expected Nov. 14.  Episodes are on an 8-day delay.” – Hulu  This is disappointing to hear and I hope that the expectations are wrong.  It’s another example of the big studios not getting it.

Our three favorite characters will be returning:  Kahlan Amnell played by Bridget Regan (on left).  Richard Cypher played by Craig Horner (center).  Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander aka “Zedd” played by Bruce Spence (right).  We will also get to see a lot more of the Mord’Sith, I’m hopping to find out what happened to Denna as well.

For the summer, we are going to turn The Confessed podcast into a book club!

In the wake of the glorious first season of Legend of the Seeker, we will read Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind with the same eye on story we gave to the show, and the long silenced comparison between the show and the book.

Here is the schedule for the podcast.  We will put up a post for your comments on the post date, and record the podcast live on TalkShoe on the Podcast date.  The live show will be a round table where we will be taking your calls, and adding many regular contributors to the round table.

Review of:  Legend of the Seeker 117 Deception 

Overall Rating: 9.5

After Richard and Kahlan make the grim discovery that Darken Rahl has been using dark magic to crush the resistance, Richard infiltrates a D’Haran camp to save innocent lives.  Watch the episode streaming online above.

This was a great episode not as light hearted as a lot of the previous episodes but it is full of balanced drama… dark parts with dark magic and light hearted parts too.  This episode could be summed up with the words “Everyone deserves a second chance.”

• This episode is much more serious then the previous ones.
  • I love how we get to see from both sides the toll that the war takes on the soldiers.  They really address the issue of  that some soldiers can keep their humanity and  others can not.  They turn the question of who is guilty and who earns a second chance on it’s head
• Nice use of supernatural horror
• Really good looking combat sequences
• I love the use of propaganda in this episode like “compliance missions.”
• Find out what Darken Rahl’s new order is.

While on a quest to prevent the Third Box of Orden from winding up in the hands of Darken Rahl, Richard learns a startling revelation about his friend, Zedd.  Watch the episode streaming online above.
