Marvel released the second trailer for Iron Man 2 and it looks better but also feeds some concerns. Watch the trailer above.
Iron Man is an awesome movie that I really enjoyed so it pains me to say that so far the second one doesn’t appear to be very inspired from the advertising. Instead of one villain in an Iron Man knock off suit fighting against Tony Stark there appears to be many Iron Man knock off suits fighting Iron Man and War Machine.
We do get to see more about Whiplash from this trailer which helps with the original concerns over the character.
From the trailer they confirm that there will be more Nick Fury and a meeting does excite me.
I do like the clip of the portable Iron Man suit. It unpacks itself and places it’s self on Tony Stark. Is this the beginning of the sentient Iron Man suit from the comics?
I’m a sucker for a movie with sword play in it and / or a mid-evil setting besides could it be any worse or better then Kevin Costner 1991 Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. It will hit theaters May 14, 2010.
Shane Felux finally did it and now the long awaited Trenches is available to watch streaming online on Crackle.com. Trenches is being released as a series. Watch the Trailer below. The episodes are being released daily so as a fan of watching shows in marathon mode I’m going to wait for several to que up.
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths: In a parallel Earth ruled by the crime syndicate, the Justice League must fight their evil doppelgangers in a battle that would be dead even, except that their malicious counterparts are willing to do the one thing Batman and Superman never would… kill. The special features include over 2 hours of bonus content! I’ve really enjoyed DC’s direct to DVD projects like Green Lantern: First Flight, Wonder Woman 2009, Justice League – The New Frontier. Because of their past successes I would buy this one sight unseen.
Ghost Hunters: Season Five, Part One: Always a great show. This set includes episodes: Betsy Ross House, Star Island, Edith Wharton Estate, Club Dead, Soul Searching, Titanic Terror, Crossing Over, Garden State Asylum, Inhuman Entity, I am Not Guilty, Civil Wars Spirits, Essex County Penitentiary.
LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers: This one is so weird that I couldn’t pass it by without mentioning it. I get the feel that this will watch like the lego games will play which means I will at least laugh at it. Clutch Powers and his team of LEGO experts on their adventure from LEGO City to the Space Police prison planet to the medieval world of Ashlar where they must help the rightful heir to the King’s throne find the courage to regain the kingdom from the evil wizard Mallock the Malign. Their brick-building skills will be put to the ultimate test as they face off against Mallock’s skeleton army. Get ready for an action-packed adventure like nothing you have ever seen before, The Adventures of Clutch Powers!
Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant: Based on the first three books of the book series The Saga of Darren Shan by author Darren Shan. A fantasy-adventure about a teenager who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares. Still a renter, I’ve heard mixed reviews of the movie and even netflix thinks I will give it a 3.6 which is in the wild card part of the rating.
The new Super Bowl TV spot is up for The Last Airbender. It looks good. I like that they feature all four kinds of bending so we get a chance to see a glimpse of how it looks in the movie.
I’m still concerned about the story line. The animated show did such an amazing job with the story, setting elements and characters that leaves this movie big shoes to fill. On the plus side if pulled off well it could introduce many more into the wonderfully inspiring world of Avatar The Last Airbender.

Columbia Pictures has a trailer out for The karate Kid remake. I grew up watching The original Karate Kid movies and found them very inspirational and formative.
Like many in fandom I too grew up under the terror regime of a neighborhood bully. The Karate Kid showed me the importance to standing up to bullies, the tools necessary are within us and in the environment around us and that violence does not resolve conflict.
The original movie showed me how our environment can provide for the tools necessary to get a job done that accessing those tools are just a matter of creativity and awareness.
Beyond all of that the original Karate Kid taught me that the real fight against an opponent is not a physical one. It laid the ground work and awareness that violence does not resolve a conflict but that once one has defeated their fear the bully is defeated.
Because of that deep and personal relationship with the original movie I’ve been skeptical of the remake, concerned that those values will not be maintained. After watching the trailer I have more hope for the movie. Watch the trailer below.
A 12 year old detroit kid moves to China with his mother. Due to cultural differences he makes the class bully and enemy. With no friends, in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han, who is secretly a master of kung fu. Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm.
Kick-Ass is an interesting looking movie. I get a Mystery Men kind of vibe from it which is not the best movie but it is very entertaining. Kick-Ass is in theaters April 16th 2010. Watch the trailer above.
Plot: KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero… Kick-Ass. He assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl and her father, Big Daddy.
The new trailer is out for Season of the Witch, watch it above.
I love the idea of getting to watch a good supernatural thriller. With so many bad ones out Season of the Witch is fighting an uphill battle.
The trailer looks ok and is better than the first one released.
On the plus side Ron Perlman is in it and he’s a staple for the sci-fi/ fantasy / horror industry.
Plot: A 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight’s pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.
