Ugly Betty: Season 3: This is a great modern fantasy tale. Now I can get caught up with season 3, they finally added Ugly Betty to Hulu but they did so mid-season and did not put up the earlier parts. In season 3 Betty tries to maintain sanity in the office, but it’s a tough job working alongside dragon lady Wilhelmina, corporate ladder climber Amanda and the acutely dysfunctional Meade clan. Season 4 airs October 9th.
Friday the 13th: The Series – The Final Season: This was the 80’s show that I keep comparing Warehouse 13 to. A must see for Warehouse 13 fans. A long-ago pact with the devil continues to yield grave consequences for the staff of Vendredi’s Antiques, as plucky owner Micki, occult expert Jack and handsome Johnny race to find the jinxed relics of Lewis Vendredi. In the third season of the serial horror sensation, the trio tracks down a poison-producing tea set, a painting by the Marquis de Sade, a deadly cross from the Crusades and more.
30 Rock – Season Three: A hilarious comedy full of quotable lines and a must own. With Jack taking a new job at Homeland Security, Liz’s decision to have a baby and Tracy’s high jinks continuing nonstop, there’s no telling what’s in store for the gang at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Season 4 airs October 15th
National Geographic: Egyptian Secrets of the Afterlife: This fascinating Nat Geo documentary explores Egypt’s tombs and reveals the ancient beliefs of the afterlife and the perilous passage to resurrection, as renowned archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass excavates a mysterious tunnel deep below the earth. Discover the artifacts, drawings and other clues that tell the story of an underworld journey filled with terrifying monsters and fiery lakes as the dead navigate to the other side.
Battle for Terra: Has an interesting premise where it turns the invading alien theme around and makes humans the invading alien but it was a renter at best for me. When the peace-loving inhabitants of the beautiful planet Terra come under attack from the last surviving members of humanity adrift in an aging spaceship, the stage set for an all-out war between the two races for control of the planet. But will an unlikely friendship between a rebellious young Terran and an injured human pilot somehow convince their leaders that war is not the answer?
With so many Speculative Fiction shows and new shows coming out this fall I thought I could help sort them all out.
Currently Airing
Eureka (Syfy): A fun sci-fi show. Love it, watch it on Hulu
Ghost Hunters (Syfy): Fascinating exploration of U.S. ghost stories and haunting investigation. Love it watch it on Hulu
Warehouse 13 (Syfy): A fun sci-fi show that adds a dash of paranormal into it. Love it, watch it on Hulu
SEPTEMBER 9
Glee (FOX): loved the pilot, a nice feel good musical tale with a dash of fantasy.
Destination Truth (Syfy): Loved the previous seasons can’t wait to see what Josh and the gang get into this season. Hopefully nothing from Chernobyl bit Josh.
SEPTEMBER 10
The Vampire Diaries (CW): A vampire is in it so I have to check it out but I don’t have much hope. I realize it is not a Twilight clone (I have been schooled on that subject, lol) yet I can only hope that it is way better then Twilight.
Supernatural (CW): I’m a sucker for a paranormal show involving demon hunters so this is on my check out list because I also realize there are a lot of bad ones out there as well.
The Forgotten (ABC): I don’t have much hope for this show, mainly I’m concerned this will turn out to be yet another show for people who don’t like sci-fi to watch.
SEPTEMBER 23
Eastwick (ABC): The trailers looks really good, they captured the essence of the movie so well in the promotional material I’m looking forward to watching it.
SEPTEMBER 25
Dollhouse (FOX): Season one rocked!!! A must see
Smallville (CW): I could appreciate the concept behind Smallville but until this season just didn’t care enough bout the show to want to watch it but with Callum Blue joining the cast this year I think I may start watching it.
SEPTEMBER 27
The Simpsons (FOX): If you don’t know then I’m at a loss for words.
Stargate Universe (Syfy): I started out not caring much about this show, but as more came out and especially the latest trailers I’m excited to watch it.
Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters (Cartoon): Season two of George Lucas’ animated Star Wars tales covering the era of the Clone Wars. The animation style is a unique style that has been difficult for some to get into but worth it. The story is really good though lighter because the show is marketed more towards a kid audience I have hope that the second season will get better.
OCTOBER 9
Ugly Betty (ABC): What an amazing retelling of the classic fantasy tale
Sanctuary (Syfy): The original web series was good. The first season was awesome so of course I’m looking forward to season two.
NOVEMBER 3
V (ABC): I enjoyed growing up with the original show V and it is one that could use a retelling, plus Morena Baccarin.
November 7
Legend of the Seeker (syndication): Season one was so good I can’t wait to see how season two unfolds.
I find it interesting that all of the speculative fiction programming out there are on either sy-fy, Fox, CW, or ABC.

Thank God for Chuck D. When Air America debuted, I had to check out his morning show Unfiltered. Thanks to that, I was introduced to Rachel Maddow.
I followed her around as they moved her show around, and even wrote letters to them when I thought they might have canceled her show many years ago. Smart, funny, and newsy, she quickly became the high point of my day, and one of my primary sources of news and commentary.
I am so glad to see her success of MSNBC, and to see her on the “Out 100” with other luminaries as:
actors Luke Macfarlane, John Barrowman and Sir Ian McKellen, […] Wilson Cruz, Ugly Betty producer Silvio Horta as well as newlyweds George Takei and Brad Altman (New Now Next).
What a great picture, and even though I know a post like this will embarrass her to no end, I just had to say, good for you, girl, you made it.

As you may have heard, the Writers Guild of America, the union representing TV and movie writers, has settled its strike and its members have returned to work. Because of the strike your season pass for Ugly Betty, Season 2 may have fewer episodes than were scheduled by the network at the time of your purchase.
We will make all additional episodes which are broadcast during the 2007-08 season available to you as we receive them. If the season does end up with fewer episodes, you will receive a partial refund to make up for the difference.
For now, I have granted two free video credits to your account which you can use to purchase any two TV episodes, music videos, or short films on the iTunes Store.
Your video credit balance should display in the upper-right corner of iTunes next to your account name. If it does not, please sign out and sign back in to refresh. The sign out/sign in functions are found under the Store menu of iTunes. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for being an iTunes customer.
Sincerely,

Ok, so I have two free vids and possibly more on the way. They did not mail me about my other subscriptions, so I can only hope that means those seasons my be complete. I know it is too much to hope for. This leaves me with a hard question… what 2 vids to get?
